Located on more than 300 acres of rolling hills right outside of St. Louis, Purina Farms celebrates the many ways that animals enrich our lives by providing guests of all ages the opportunity to experience first-hand encounters with farm animals and adoptable dogs and cats, unique pet-centric entertainment, and fun activities including wagon rides and a hayloft play area. Just up the hill from the Visitor Center is the indoor Purina Event Center that features some of the most prestigious dog and cat shows in the country as well as special dog-friendly events. Lovely setup for all dog sports as well as conformation shows. Great a/c when it’s so hot and humid outside. Very clean. The small cafe makes the best soups and staff are great! Full review by Jacqueline A

If there are dog events going on, it would be great to take the child. If not, then the only thing they have is a barn with a few animals. If the barn is not open to the public and you wonder in, you will be told to leave. I would check out their online calendar and see if there is an event going on. Always ask before touching anyone's dogs.

Is it a place we can bring our own dog? Or should we leave her home?

There are several fenced runs where your dog can play otherwise not much unless your dog is entered in events
