Well worth a visit but anticipate a lot of people, extra charge onsite for kayak rental, and rough water / transfer from the boat to the kayak. Super grateful for a gracious crew to assist and for on…Full review by 741jeffreya

You won’t be the only person here - everyone and their brother stops here. So, the most popular stop on the most popular tour A, don’t expect small crowds. There was heavy surf the day we visited, ka…Full review by pfefmeister

Big Lagoon, one of the most visited spots in El Nido, is part of Tour A. The boat stops at a distance and you then go on kayaks to explore the place.Full review by DipuKV

Big lagoon doesn't have any accomodations near it. It's like in the middle of the sea. Part of miniloc. You can only reach it by group/private tours. Places to stay in El Nido would be in town and surrounding areas. But there are high end resorts in miniloc island which is nearer the lagoons. Traveling from Puerto princesa to El nido is around 5-6 hours by van.

Great thread guys I'm also heading to El Nido in January. For those that flew there from mamilla did you pre book your flights? When I spoke to the travel agents about it they advised to get the 8 hour coach because the planes are reserved for the top hotels so you can book a flight but might not be allowed on. Is that the case? Thanks

This is not true at all! My boyfriend and I travelled AirSwift which flies directly from Manila to El Nido. Although this airline is owned by the same company that owns the luxury hotels, they have opened their flights to the public. I mean, it's more money for them right so why not? Anyway, I highly advise to take this direct flight to save you more time if El Nido is your one true destination. (All other flights stop at Puerto Princesa which is about a 5 hour road trip to El Nido.

Hello, will be island hopping in 2018. I have visited The Philippines before, however I have just gone only to Puerto Galera and Boracay. I am considering going to Palawan this year, and I am questioning the safety due to the kidnapping travel advisories. Is Palawan safe it's a visit? Or is it something to be avoided. I know sometimes the news may hype up an advisory. Best input is highly appreciated!

Palawan is absolutely save if you stay in the north (meaning Puerto Princesa and up) ... GO THERE, it's soooo beautiful!!! :-) ... we travelled there in February and would go back within a heartbeat. We took a flight from Manila directly to El Nido which is awesome! From El Nido you can go Island Hopping (there a 4 different tours) where you will be visiting the most beautiful places you have ever seen. We also visited Boracay but to be completely honest Boracay doesn't stand a chance against Palawan and it's beauty.

Q:
What is the differences between these two packages?
A:
It seems that the more expensive one includes snorkel gears + kayak. It is rented separately (if you opted for the cheaper package) at 200-400 Php, depending on your haggling skills.
Q:
Is the price per person

Our package was charged per person. Also, when u get there there is a separate kayak rental fee i think 300per kayak. And this is also different to small lagoon , everthing is separate. Although our boat provided only one kayak, but if you are too many u need to rent from there.
