It is noted on the website for the Beaney that the original Bagpuss and other items have been donated to the museum for "long term display" suggesting that they should be there for the foreseeable future.
I’ve seen lifts in the building and automatic door opening buttons, I think the accessible doors are at the back, to not disturb the original facade of the building.
